Blinking Birch Games is a tabletop RPG publisher from southwest Virginia, run by game designer Samantha Leigh (they/she).
Sam started writing games in late-2020. Their first printed game, Anamnesis, was nominated for an ENnie Award (2022) and has been played on Friends at the Table, Planet Arcana, and My First Dungeon. They were also the first creator-in-residence with the Far Horizons CoOp, during which they wrote Outliers, which went on to be a winner of The Awards (2023).
As a Source Artist for BalletCollective’s 2023 season, Sam designed The World We Left Behind, which was used as inspiration for a ballet performed in New York City. They were a judge for the 2023 Indie Groundbreaker Awards, and have written for many games, including Cloud Empress and The Zone.
Other than her game design work, Sam is best known for her short-form videos on indie TTRPGs, which she publishes on YouTube and TikTok as GoblinMixtape. When not working on games, she's often found reading genre fiction, playing video games, and hiking the blue ridge.
